It's a good idea to prime the nose for the pore strip, but the pore strip is significantly smaller than the primed area.

I've used this Holika Holika 3 Step nose strips for a few years, great product for an affordable price. I don't have that many blackheads on my nose but I like to use these strips to clear my pores.
